Nancy grew up in the small town of Ramseur, NC. A Godly neighbor was faithful to take her to church every Sunday. She praises God for that lady. Nancy gave her heart to the Lord at the age of 12. She attends Fellowship Baptist Church in Siler City and has served in various capacities.
Nancy has been on several mission trips and is certified in the Disaster Recovery Ministry for the NC Baptist Men.
God has blessed Nancy with the honor of serving Him as Administrative Assistant at the Sandy Creek Baptist Association since February, 2003. She also completed the Professional Certification for Ministry Assistants in 2003. She serves as Clerk of the Association.
Nancy has been married to her supporting husband, Bob Evans, for 43 years. They have two married children, Tonya who is 41 and Chad who is 37. They each have a girl and boy, ages ranging from 5 to 12.
Her desire is to step out of her comfort zone and allow God to use and mold her into the daughter He deems fitting. With God nothing is impossible.
Sandra has served for a total of 32 years as a ministry assistant. She is an active member and the Administrative Assistant for Member Assimilation at Calvary Baptist Church, Winston Salem where she has worked since January 2004.
Her ministry in Southern Baptist work began in 1979 at the Home Missions Board now called the North American Mission Board in Orders Processing then in Accounts Payable and worked there five years.
Sandra and Rick met at the Home Mission Board, married and then moved to Winston-Salem where she began another facet of SBC work as the Financial/Administrative Assistant at the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association for 17 years.
From there, she has worked at Calvary Baptist Church beginning with the responsibilities as Administrative Assistant for Marriage & Family Ministries that changed to being responsible for membership records and assisting with the management of the new Shelby/Arena data base.
Detailed work is her strength. She has been a NCBSA member since 1986 and has supported the NCBSA by serving on various committees as well as Secretary/Treasurer, President Elect and President and represented North Carolina as the Secretary Treasurer for the NASBS.
Sandra spends her "free" time singing in the Calvary Adult Choir, cooking, simple knitting, card making, walking, biking, traveling and enjoying time with Rick. She sees her work as ministry or else it would be an overwhelming job.
April is Administrative Assistant at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Shelby, and attends Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC. April received her Ministry Assistant Certification in March 2014.
April lives in Kings Mountain, NC and is married to Russell Van Dyke and they have two sons, Nash (9) and Ethan (4).
She has been co-facilitator for Grief Share Support group for 4 years at EBC. After losing two children (Zoe & Seth) she felt called to use her experience with loss and grief to help others going through grief.
April enjoys crafts/DIY projects, and spending time with her family. She has a passion for raising awareness and funds for causes that are special to her (i.e. National Niemann-Pick Disease Foundation, Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia or CHD research, Duke University Hospital's Family Support Program, Blood Donation drives, and Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep Foundation).
Her life motto is: ENDURE-FIGHT-LIVE: I will use what I have endured in my lifetime for the good; I will continue to fight for my beliefs and what is right; and I will live my life according to God's will.
April's favorite verse is Psalm 34:18 "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
